Man arrested for murder of 2-year-old
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - U.S. Marshals arrested a man for the murder of a 2-year-old in Cordova earlier this month.
Shelby County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home on Unbridle Way on the evening of February 7.
When deputies arrived, they found a 2-year-old child unresponsive and immediately began life-saving measures until Shelby County Fire made the scene.
The child was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
A warrant was issued on February 17 for the arrest of 35-year-old Robert Newton.

Newton was located at a business in Ashland City, Tennessee, on Monday.
Newton is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and child abuse.
