Suspect arrested in connection with string of burglaries, SCSO says
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A man was arrested after his connection with a string of burglaries, according to Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.
The burglaries happened between Dec. 21, 2024, and Jan. 23, 2025, across southeast Shelby County.
Ricky Pointer, 28, was responsible for the burglaries and was charged with three counts of aggravated assault.
He will also have additional charges from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office.
On Friday, authorities from Shelby County and DeSoto County performed a search warrant at a home on Waverly Drive in Horn Lake, Mississippi.
During the search, two vehicles were seized: a GMC Acadia and a white Chrysler 300 that were both related to the burglaries.
Numerous stolen guns were also found.
On Monday, Shelby County authorities arrested Pointer at a home on Rosefield Road in South Memphis.
Pointer has additional warrants for evading law enforcement in DeSoto County and through the Collierville Police Department, according to SCSO.
