Traffic diverted on I-40 West in Memphis after semi overturns

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Westbound drivers on I-40 in Memphis are being diverted to North Watkins Street after a semi-truck overturned Wednesday night.

The crash was reported to TDOT at 7:46 p.m.

As of 10:15 p.m., first responders are still working to clear the scene just past the Watkins exit.

An 18-wheeler driven for the transit company Cheema Freightlines LLC was the only vehicle involved.

All lanes are closed in the immediate area as crews work to clear the roadway.

Memphis police say no injuries were reported.
