Dog bite injures two on Bartlett Road, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Two people have been injured after a dog attack on Wednesday, according to Memphis Police.
MPD responded to a dog bite call shortly after 4:00 p.m. at the 700 block of Bartlett Road. Officers were told that a pit bull was on the loose, and they were informed that two people have been bitten.
Officers found the dog and attempted to contain the animal, but they said the dog jumped from the vehicle and charged at officers.
MPD said they discharged their weapons, but did not hit the dog. The pit bull then ran away. Neither the dog nor the owner have been located yet, according to MPD.
Both dog bite victims were taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.
