Ground breaks for new full-service hotel in Southaven

DESOTO COUNTY, Miss. (WMC) - Ground broke on the first piece of a $100 million investment in Southaven as work begins on a new full-service hotel near Landers Center in Southaven.

WOW Resorts has partnered with Onyx Hospitality as they broke ground Thursday morning for the Embassy Suites by Hilton at the Landers Center.

It is DeSoto County’s first four-star hotel, a milestone for the City of Southaven and DeSoto County.

According to the press release, the hotel will provide a major boost for tourism, business, and community events.

“This hotel and convention center will prove to be the most significant economic development project in the history of DeSoto County,” said Southaven Mayor Darren Musselwhite.
