MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department has arrested and charged suspects accused of robbing a father at gunpoint in front of his young daughter.

Early last year, officers responded to a robbery call at the Malcolm X Food Market on Corning Avenue.

When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim, who informed them that he was in line to buy items with his 3-year-old daughter when he was approached from behind by the suspect, later identified as Landen Oliver.

Oliver pulled a handgun out and pointed it at the victim, robbing him of his iPhone and weapon from his waistband.

The affidavit says that the victim shielded his daughter from the suspect, pushing her behind him.

The second suspect, Jordan Oliver, was standing by and told Landen to run out of the business after robbing the victim.

Upon further investigation, Landen and Jordan were taken into custody and are now facing charges for aggravated robbery; Landen is also facing charges for child endangerment.

Jordan Oliver is also facing a reckless homicide charge stemming from a shooting in 2024.

Shelby County District Attorney’s Office says he shot and killed a 16-year-old girl in her home’s bathroom in September.

He was later arrested in January at Pershing Park Apartments.

He was charged with reckless homicide; the DA’s office says that case has now been transferred from juvenile court to criminal court.
