MPD identifies both victims in Downtown shooting

Memphis police have identified both victims of Saturday’s Downtown shooting as two Houston-based rappers.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis police have identified both victims of Saturday’s Downtown shooting as two Houston-based rappers.

Albert Mondane, 34, (Houston rapper Sauce Walka) was the surviving victim of the fatal hotel shooting. 27-year-old Latorian Hunt, known by his stage name Sayso P, died on the scene.

Sauce Walka’s father, Albert Walker, says his son is okay and recovering after suffering a gunshot wound to the left thigh.

The shooting happened outside the Westin Hotel around 2:40 p.m. Saturday.
