Arrest made after multiple mail carriers robbed
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis police made an arrest after multiple postal workers were robbed.
The first robbery happened on November 29 at the Cedar Mills Apartments.
The postal worker says she was delivering mail when she heard a gun click and turned around to see a man pointing a gun at her and demanding a key.
Then on December 2, another robbery happened at The Landings Apartments.
The mail carrier says a man approached him from behind when he was at the back of his vehicle and could hear a gun cocking.
The man again demanded the key and got away.
Police then received a tip that the suspect was someone known as “Marshun.”
Investigators searched a home on December 9 and found stolen checks, a Glock handgun case, and clothing that matched descriptions from the robberies.
The third robbery happened on December 10 at The Landings Apartments. The letter carrier was uninjured.
Police say the suspect approached the worker and demanded the “arrow key.”
Officers returned to the home at a later time and took the suspect into custody.
Marshun Lewis, 24, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. His bond was set at $101,500.
