Shelby County Sheriff's detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a Memphis man that happened Monday night near Millington.
Around 9:00 p.m. Monday, Tracey Tallent, 23, a resident of a house in the 9200 block of Kerrville-Rosemark Road, went to the Millington Police Department and told officers she had been threatened by David Williams, 29, of Memphis.
Because Tallent's house was outside Millington city limits, deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff's Department were called to the location. When they arrived at the house, deputies found Williams dead, the victim of multiple gunshot wounds.
According to Tallent, Williams was alive when she left the house. Authorities said Williams was a frequent visitor to Tallent's house.
Investigators immediately began questioning Tallent about what might have lead to the shooting.
"We don't have any motive at this point," said Shelby County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Steve Shular. "We have some leads as to what we think it might be, but we haven't really established a clear motive yet."
No one has been arrested or charged.
Monday's homicide was the third of the year to be investigated by Shelby County Sheriff's Deputies.
