Wrongful Death Suit Filed by Victim's Parents
The parents of a man who was found dead after he discovered his wife's lover sleeping in a closet at their home have filed a wrongful death lawsuit for $10 million against the two suspects in the case.
Martha Ann Freeman and her boyfriend Rafael DeJesus Rocha-Perez have both been indicted on first-degree murder charges stemming from the April death of her husband Jeffrey Freeman, who was found by police in a bathroom at the couple's Nashville home.
Blane and Hazel Freeman, of Bristol, Tennessee, filed the lawsuit in a Davidson County court last month. They have asked a judge to place a lien on the couple's home. They also request distribution of the husband's estate be halted until their claim is resolved. If the suit is successful, or Freeman is found guilty, she could not inherit the estate.
Police have said Rocha-Perez killed Freeman after the husband heard sounds of snoring and found the suspect living in a bedroom closet.
