MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Gibson Memphis is looking to fill their manufacturing staff.

Gibson will host a job fair on August 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 145 George W. Lee Avenue.

The company is looking for 10-15 detail-oriented, general manufacturing workers.

"We have created two new product lines this year, the ES-235 and the ES-275T, that are competitively priced," said Jonathan Blocker, General Manager of Gibson-Memphis. "We are looking to increase our output in the next four to six weeks to accommodate the new demand."

Blocker said competitive wages and benefits will be offered. Applicants with a talent for woodworking would be a plus.

You can send your resume to ahead of the job fair.

The Gibson Memphis factory was sold for $14.1 million last year to out-of-town investors Somera Road, Inc. of New York and Tricera Capital of Miami. The Nashville based guitar maker is currently leasing the factory space it built and opened in 2000.

Gibson Brands, Inc is now exploring a guitar factory re-location somewhere in Memphis. It announced last year that it intended to move its 85 local workers to a smaller factory setting to "achieve improved efficiencies with a build to suit new factory nearby."
