MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Women are making their voices heard ahead of this week's election.

Tuesday night was the "Sizzling Women Who Run" mixer at the Hatiloo Theater honoring the women running for office and female campaign staff who make it happen.

The event was put on by the League of Women Voters, the Memphis Area Women's Council, the Coalition of 100 Black Women, and the Tennessee Nurses Association

"With the majority of all the elected offices being run by men, women are certainly more than half of our population and have great ideas, great empathy, great passion and can do so much work," said Deborah Club with Memphis Area Women's Council. "It's important we're all in the game, that we're all at the table."

The event was non-partisan, and Club said there has been a surge in women running across the country.

You can also get your personalized ballot courtesy of the League of Women Voters.
