Shooting reported at Purple Haze night club

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Memphis Police Department is investigating after a shooting was reported at Purple Haze night club in Downtown Memphis.
The shooting happened around 3:00 Christmas morning.
Club officials said the person who had the gun jumped the patio fencing and sneaked past a security guard before the shooting took place. They said the shooter and the victim had a previous altercation outside the club about 45 minutes prior.
Here is the full statement from club officials:
The safety and security of patrons, staff, and security is the top priority and of utmost concern to managers and owners of Purple Haze Night Club. Entrance within the club is strict and observed to ensure safety. Everyone who enters Purple Haze Night Club is monitored for weapons of any sort before they are granted access to enter. Any party that enters the club and is observed acting suspicious, aggressive, or negligent is removed or surrendered to the proper authorities.
Purple Haze Night Club provides security personnel who are stationed around the club to ensure everyone inside the club is in the safest environment possible.
However, earlier today allegedly an individual had a grievance with another individual outside of Purple Haze Night Club on George W. Lee Avenue. One of the individuals left the area and the other entered the club. Approximately 45 minutes later, the individual who had not entered the club through standard entrance procedures jumped the patio fencing, passed a security guard and entered the club and shot whom we believe was the individual with whom allegedly he had a grievance with earlier. He then fled the club.
We are currently working with all local authorities to help ensure the capture of the perpetrator and our thoughts and prayers are with our patron who is currently receiving medical care for his wounds.
