City Council reacts to WMC5 investigation revealing 16K unfilled jobs

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Memphis City Councilman Edmund Ford Junior called for an executive session meeting Tuesday to discuss unfilled jobs in Memphis.
WMC Action News 5 Investigators Andrew Douglas revealed there are 16,049 job openings in Memphis right now.
Councilman Ford said he wants to help job seekers with training so they can get jobs that are available right now.
"Southwest Community College, TCAT, Moore Tech, Louis Mechanical and some of the other training providers that are out there. We want to make sure that their training curricula is aligned to the skills that companies are projecting future jobs to require," Ford said.
Ford Junior is calling for this meeting Tuesday afternoon during executive session. We'll be there and let you know what happens.
