MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Three people were arrested for the shooting that killed a 15-year-old on Cherry Road Saturday, according to Memphis Police Department.
Demarcus Johnson, Frederick Wilson, and Ortha Ray are in jail for the shooting.
Four people arrived at St. Francis Hospital just after midnight Saturday. Jaheim Walker, 15, was pronounced dead upon arrival. A 16-year-old was flown by helicopter to Regional Medical Center in critical condition. An 18-year-old is in non-critical condition, and a 19-year-old was present but not injured in the shooting.
Police said the vehicle the teens arrived at the hospital in was riddled with bullet holes. The victims were riding on Cherry Road when they were shot at.
"I still don't believe it. It's just hard. He was nothing but 15, still a baby. He still had to grow up," Walker's aunt Krystal Walker said.
Family members said Walker aspired to play in the NFL.
"He was going to take it to the next level," Walker said. "He was going to college with that. He was going to take care of his momma. He was going to take care of my sister."
Johnson, Wilson, and Ray are all charged with first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.
"They need to put the guns down," Walker said.
It comes as a tough weekend across Memphis, with numerous homicides.
"It's heart wrenching," MPD Major Kathleen Lanier said. "I have to be honest with you. There's nothing good about what's going on this weekend."
