MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A man is in custody and charged with shooting a U.S. Marine in the face.
Panola County investigators said Jordan Montrey Williams turned himself in to police. He's charged with four counts of aggravated assault.
Lyndon Mosley was shot during a drive-by shooting on Highway 6 on Tuesday. Three adults and a child were in Mosley's car when the shooting happened.
"Man that's just horrible. I don't know how they can even live with that," said, Courtney Pride, who said he and Mosley were like brothers.
Mosley still can't believe one of his close friends, a U.S. Marine serving our country and the loving father of two baby girls, was shot in the face.
Mosley and Williams do know each other, but it is unclear what happened before the shooting.
Mosley's wife, Coesha Strong-Mosley, said that though he will lose his eye, he is doing OK. He is responsive, able to move, and able to look at people, but cannot talk.
Mosley's wife set up a GoFundMe account for her family, saying the money will go toward Mosley's two young daughters, London and Lailah.
"I can't say why or who would have shot him, because even back in high school he didn't have enemies," Pride said.
The Marine and his wife got married earlier this year. He was home for the birth of his second child.
"It's just sad to see," Pride said. "Someone who had something going for himself in this small town, which most guys in our town don't have anything going for themselves."
His wife posted on Facebook, "So unreal, but I'm never leaving his side until he walks up out this hospital in great condition."
