MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A man is behind bars, accused of being a part of a meat theft ring.

In June 2016, the plant manager for Ledbetter Packing told police hundreds of pounds of meat were missing from his business.  The manager said the loss totaled more than $89,000.

Surveillance video showed a number of people taking bags and boxes of meat by the dumpster on various occasions. Cars would then drive up to the dumpster and pick up the meat.

An undercover agent said they witnessed a number of thefts between June 20 and June 30.

According to the police report, ten members of the night shift cleaning crew were responsible for the thefts.

In July 2016, Ronnie Strickland was arrested and charged with stealing the meat.

A warrant was issued for Mekoe Suggs' arrest in September 2016. He was arrested Sunday, November 6 and charged with theft of property $60,000 to $250,000.
