Police: Relative knew pregnant teenager was being raped

HELENA-WEST HELENA, AR (WMC) - Helena-West Helena police have arrested a family member of a teen rape victim that was discovered to be pregnant for the third time.

William Maylone Watson, a registered sex offender, was arrested Sunday for the rape of a 15-year-old girl.

The victim told investigators that the family member was physically abusive towards her and knew the victim was having sex with Watson.

The girl's 36-year-old mother was arrested and charged with three counts of permitting abuse of a minor, endangering welfare of an incompetent person, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Her bond was set at $110,000.

The victim, her two sisters, and her two children were removed from the home in April when investigators found the 15-year-old to be pregnant.

Watson was charged with rape.
