MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Police identified the two attempted robbery suspects injured in an officer-involved shooting Saturday night.

Officers said Martez Brisco, 25, and Robert Miller, 21, tried to rob a Pizza Hut driver on Knight Arnold Road. The men were wearing masks and even tried to get into the restaurant.

When officers arrived, the two men still had their guns out, so officers shot Brisco and Miller around 11 p.m. Saturday night.

Monday, Brisco remained in serious condition while Miller was in fair condition.

Memphis Police Department said both men will be taken to jail and processed when they are released from the hospital.

MPD has not said whether Brisco or Miller opened fire on the officers.

Melissa Ramirez works near the Pizza Hut. She said she's thankful she was not working Saturday when the shooting happened.

"It doesn't make sense why people would try to come out to businesses and try to rob something that doesn't belong to them," Ramirez said.

Police have not released the names of the officers involved in the shooting. Both have been relieved of duty pending an investigation, in accordance to MPD protocol.

Miller and Brisco both have criminal records, although neither has been linked to any violent criminal past.

Brisco has been arrested for various traffic offenses, possession of marijuana, and having beer as a minor. Miller was arrested for driving without insurance in 2014.
