MPD: Man stole $25,000 necklace from North Parkway home

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A man is behind bars after police said he stole items worth $25,000 from a home on North Parkway.
The burglary happened in the 3300 block on North Parkway.
According to the police report, the victim reported his home had been broken into on June 1. Among the items taken were the victim's Rice College 1995 class ring and an Athenian Greek Coin necklace valued at $25,000.
Police said Tevin Lee was identified as the person responsible for the theft by his employer who saw him on a media release. The employer told police that Lee admitted to committing the theft.
Police arrested Lee on June 8. Lee admitted to police that he committed the crime and pawned the jewelry, which police later recovered.
Lee is charged with aggravated burglary and theft of property $10,000 - $60,000.
