Man arrested, accused of shooting at 3 women

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A man accused of shooting at three women in Summit Park Apartments is in jail.

Police said 21-year-old Jimmie Edwards pulled out a gun and began firing shots at 3 women in the 1700 block of Piping Rock Drive. The shooting happened on April 27.

The victims told police they were sitting on the porch when Edwards came from the side of the building and began shooting at them, according to the police report.

After shooting, Edwards left the scene.

Investigators said two of the victims were hit multiple times and taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

On May 3, police said one of the victims gave a statement pointing to Edwards as the suspect. The victim told police that none of them knew Edwards prior to the shooting.

On May 6, the victim positively identified Edwards as the shooter.

Edwards was arrested and is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault.
