MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Traffic came to a standstill on Walnut Grove after a three-car crash that killed one person and injured two more.

The crash happened just before 11 a.m. near the intersection of Walnut Grove Road and Farm Road.

A woman and a 4-year-old were both taken to the hospital in critical condition. Another person died on the scene.

Memphis Police Department has not said what caused the crash, but drivers said speeding is a serious problem in the area.

"I use Walnut Grove every day to get to the University of Memphis, and I would definitely like to see a little bit more speed enforcement," Duncan McDonald said.

"It was heartbreaking to see that someone else lost their life in Memphis, Tennessee. We have so many deaths in Memphis," Cedric Blaylock said. I hope the 4-year-old pulls through."

The road closed for more than three hours as investigators cleared the scene and investigated the crash. Walnut Grove Road has since reopened.
