JONESBORO, AR (WMC) - Stacey Devine's friends describe her as a caring and loving person who didn't have an enemy in the world. So when she was found strangled in a ditch, the Jonesboro community couldn't believe it.

Devine's body was found Friday, Feb. 12 by a man walking his dog. Investigators found tire tracks and footprints around her body. They found her car two miles away, but it took hours before they were able to identify her.

"That was kinda freaky," stunned neighbor Ann Dunaway said. She said nobody heard or saw anything out of the ordinary until police swarmed their neighborhood.

Days later, the community gathered to remember and honor Devine. They held their vigil at the exact place Devine's body was found.

"She was a loving person and caring. She loved everybody. She was always supportive of all her friends," Tasha Santiago said. "She never talked down to anyone or bad about anyone."

"I would have never thought in a million years that I would lose a best friend such as Stacey," Tiffany McDonald said. "The last name Devine, she was that. She was very divine."

Her friends said they knew something was wrong February 7. That day she did not show up for work. The next day, McDonald called and left her a message, but never got a call back.

"It just hurts, you know? A person like her doesn't deserve this this, or didn't deserve this."

It's a mystery that investigators and friends hope you can help solve. If you know anything about what happened in Jonesboro between February 7 and February 12, call Jonesboro Police Department at (870) 933-4600 or Jonesboro Crime Stoppers at  (870) 935-7867.
