MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - An 18-year-old woman will face a judge after police said she shot and killed a man and his pregnant girlfriend during a robbery.

Shelby Isaac is charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

EJ Tate and Edwina Thomas were killed in January 2016. Family and friends said Tate and his cousin run a business called VirginHair4US.com. They believe Isaac and a suspected accomplice, Victoria Seay, knew Tate and may have bought hair from him before.

Family and friends believe the bundles of hair, valued at up to $250 each, may have been the motive for the murders.

"They didn't have to do this," Tate's father said. "If they wanted the hair, I'm pretty sure he would say you can have this hair. My life is not worth it."

Witnesses told police they saw Isaac go through Tate's pockets after she shot him.

Police said Victoria Seay, also 18 years old, acted as a getaway driver. She is charged with accessory after the fact.

Isaac will appear in court Monday.
