TBI: 1 dead, 2 injured in shooting at home used as a barber shop

RIPLEY, TN (WMC) - One person was killed and two people were injured in a shooting near Rice Park in Ripley, Tennessee.

The shooting occurred in a house on Watkins Street, near the park, around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Crime scene tape surrounds the home, where the lights were still on several hours after the incident.  According to Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the home was used as a barber shop.

TBI said two masked men entered the home and fired guns during an attempted robbery, shooting the three people.

One victim, 20-year-old Clarence Evans died. The other two victims were taken to a Memphis hospital. Their conditions are currently unknown.
