MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Oakhaven elementary, middle, and high schools all went on lockdown Monday as Memphis police officers searched for three shooting suspects.

Police believe two men and a woman shot two people in Oakhaven Park, which is less than half a mile away from the schools.

One of those victims died. The other has been taken to Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

Police surrounded a dark colored SUV at Oakhaven Park, close to the area where residents said they heard gunfire at around 1 p.m.

"I talked to the mailman, and he said that one of the guys was lying on the driveway over there and another guy was sitting in the truck," one neighbor said.

Parents were shocked and several rushed to the school to make sure their children were safe.

Long-time residents said they are concerned with the rise in violence in their neighborhood.

"The neighborhood has gotten progressively worse," Pastor David Young said. "It gets worse and worse; it's just sad we keep seeing stuff like this."

Police have not released any suspect descriptions.
