MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Police are investigating a shooting that killed one person in Fox Meadows early Monday morning.

Investigators said a woman reported that her ex-husband was slashing her tires. She then called them back and said he had been shot.

"When I woke up I saw a guy on the ground laying at the end of the driveway," said neighbor Jessica Jordan. "He had a truck that was parked right there.  So he was like, right beside it."

Family members confirm 57-year-old Al Rogers was killed Monday morning. They said he and his ex-wife divorced a few months ago.

They said they were watching the news this morning when they realized he was the victim. Regardless of the circumstances, they added this is especially hard so close to Christmas.

"It was really sad, waking up early this morning and seeing someone deceased right in front of your house, right there," said Jordan.

Around 10 a.m., police brought the woman and a man back to the scene.  They walked up the driveway and referenced the two cars with flat tires. The man covered his face as he got back into the police car and was driven away. The woman remained at the house with investigators as they towed away a car with flat tires.

Neighbors said they are sad to hear a domestic situation turned deadly.

"it is unnerving.  It's unnerving. There is so much domestic violence happening around the world," said resident Carolyn Guy.

Police are still investigating the situation. At this point, no charges have been filed.
