WEST MEMPHIS, AR (WMC) - A new bridge and a new park could turn undeveloped farmland into a bicyclist's paradise.

The proposed Harahan Bridge project would create a walkway and bicycle way connecting downtown Memphis to West Memphis, Arkansas.

Another project proposes to create a bicycle parkway on the levee as well.

But the most exciting announcement is the decision to turn 1700 acres of undeveloped farmland between I-55 and I-40 into the Delta Regional River Park, a park much like Shelby Farms.

Dow McVean of Big River Strategic Initiative said the 6.7 mile bike loop will open by next fall.
