COLLIERVILLE, TN (WMC) - Collierville High School and Crosswind Elementary School were on lockdown Thursday, but there was not a specific threat on either school.

School leaders said there was something going on in a nearby neighborhood.

Collierville police said a homeowner in the neighborhood fired a gun. The homeowner told them someone was trying to break into their house.

Both schools went on lockdown, refusing to allow anyone in or out of the buildings.

As soon as police confirmed everything was safe, classes continued as scheduled.
