MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Memphis police arrested the man responsible for a break-in at a vacant Memphis elementary school.

Montarious Gross, 18, was arrested for a break-in at Lincoln Elementary located in 1500 block of South Orleans Street early Wednesday morning.

Police responded to break-in when the alarm company reported an alarm going off in the kitchen area of the school.

Upon arrival, officers saw a broken window. K-9 officers were called to the scene and a perimeter was set-up around the school.

Investigators said Gross used bolt cutters and a hammer to remove copper from a water heater in the kitchen.

Gross started to exit the school, but went back inside when he saw police. He eventually came out and was arrested and charged with burglary and criminal impersonation.
