Customer's car stolen from dealership
MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Memphis man is now without a car after a man stole his vehicle from a local dealership while it was being serviced for an oil change.
Lawson Arney took his 2010 Acura MDX to the Acura dealership on Ridgeway Road Wednesday morning. Shortly after dropping it off, he received a phone call.
"Sat down at my desk and received a phone call that my car has been stolen," says Arney.
Management at the dealership said while the car was in the service bay, a man who was waiting around hopped in and took off. Employees said they chased after the man and even followed him in a vehicle, but were unable to catch him.
"Said he was waiting on his wife to bring in her car and then a minute later he hopped into my car and drove off," says Arney.
The vehicle is a gray 2010 Acura MDX with a cardio barre sticker on the front and yellow parking sticker on the back. The license plate number is 171 YKN.
"You just never think it's going to happen to you," says Arney.
Management with the dealership said they are doing everything they can to help locate the vehicle, but if it is not found, Arney is responsible for replacing it.
