Man admits to driving naked: 'I'm a respectable, good Christian'

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The man accused of driving around Memphis naked appeared in court on Monday.
Without an attorney, Todd Albritton, 45, went before a judge, facing four counts of indecent exposure.
Several videos and pictures sent to WMC Action News 5 last week show a man wearing nothing but a black hat and sunglasses driving a Mercedes that was missing a license plate.
Fully dressed, wearing a navy blue suit and tie, Albritton spoke exclusively with WMC Action News 5's Jerica Phillips outside the courtroom and admitted he was the driver.
"I want to apologize to first of all my family," said Albritton, "It's not like me, I'm a respectable good Christian."
Albritton claims he was under the influence of prescriptions drugs and does not remember exposing himself while behind the wheel.
"I didn't know what I was doing until I saw it on video and that was scary," he said, "I took some medications that weren't prescribed to me, Ambien and Seroquel."
Albritton was arrested at The Peabody Hotel, where he worked as a security guard, on Friday.
Representatives at The Peabody Hotel declined to comment on the charges. Albritton says he has since been fired.
"It resulted in this, losing my jobs, and the embarrassment and like I say, I wish I'd never taken it," he explained.
The father of 9- and 20-year-old daughters, Albritton says he suffers from depression and is currently seeing a doctor.
"I talked to one of them, it's hard to explain what daddy did," he said, "I've been under a lot stress not seeing my kids and being divorced and everything and not sleeping. I don't want to go to jail, I think I need to get help for this situation."
Albritton will go before a judge again on July 30.
