Free self defense class empowers women against attackers
MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - After WMC Action News 5's Kendall Kirkham showed viewers different self defense moves they could use to protect themselves, more than 30 women stepped up to learn the moves on their own.
"You need to be able to defend yourself in case something happens so you can save your life," said attendee Paige Williams.
The instructor showed women the moves that would help them protect themselves from becoming the next victim.
"I am not really strong and my dad wanted me to learn self defense in case anyone came at me," said attendee Annsley Williams.
After the free class, the attendees felt much more confident about being able to act wisely in a bad situation.
"Because there is so much out in the city that's around everyday," said attendee Carol Williams.
