MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Gregory Powell will spend the rest of his life in prison after setting his live-in girlfriend on fire in 2013.

Powell says he and Alice Wells got into an argument at their home on Coleman Avenue. He says he hit her in the head with a stick, doused her with gasoline, and set her on fire.

He then drove to 201 Poplar and told officers, "I did something bad to my girlfriend."

Last year, Wells's sister told WMC Action News 5 that she would make sure justice was served for her late sister.
