DYER COUNTY, TN (WMC) - A 44-year-old mother of four disappeared just weeks after filing for divorce. Karen Swift's body was found six weeks later.

For the first time, investigators are pointing their fingers at her husband, David Swift, as the prime suspect in her case.

"Certainly we would like to have an interview with him [David] and surely I wouldn't think it would take three long years to get one," said Terry McCreight, Dyer County Sheriff's Office.

When asked what he would ask David if granted that interview, McCreight replied, "Did you kill your wife?"

Investigators aren't the only people looking for answers. Karen Swift's mother wants answers, too.

"I think if I could know for sure, if I could know who to be angry at, I think I could start to heal but as it is, it's just an everyday open wound," she said.

Three years has passed since Karen's husband reported her missing in October 2011.
