(WMC) - Members of a Memphis family are in pain Sunday evening as they make a desperate attempt to find out what happened to a missing mother.

Latrice Shay Armstead disappeared under suspicious circumstances two years ago. And although her car was found, there was no trace of her.

Frederick Armstead says the last time he saw his sister Latrice was in July 2012 when she stopped by his shop.

"A couple of weeks later she just went missing," said Armstead.

Armstead says his older sister was in the process of moving from Memphis to St. Louis and was in town to pick up a few items when she mysteriously disappeared. He also says that days later, her car was found abandoned and burned on a Coahoma County, Mississippi road.

"We got the report about where the car was found so we went down there," said Armstead. "Me and some of my friends, we did a search on four-wheelers in about a five mile area, checking the ditch bank and the fields seeing if we could come up with any type of a clue."

However, relatives say after hours of searching that rural Mississippi road, no trace of Latrice Armstead was found.

"We suspect foul play, but you don't never give up hope ... the car was found burned. It wasn't completely burned, it was torched," he said.

Armstead told WMC Action News 5 that his sister has three young sons and her disappearance has been hard on them.

"The baby boy really, because him and his mom they were real close. So you know, he is always like 'Where is my mom?', and they keep telling him that she's working."
