(WMC-TV) - Investigators want to know how a man was able to enter a hospital emergency room in order to threaten a patient.

Clarksdale police say an intruder broke into the ER and walked into the hospital threatening to kill a specific patient.

Robbie Linley,Assistant Police Chief, says the suspect broke the window of a secured door and was able to reach inside to open it.

"Where was the security was when all that happened?" wondered Clarksdale resident Justin Harris.

Action News 5 wanted to know how the intruder got in the hospital and then out without being caught, but no one at the hospital returned our calls.

Police say the hospital has private security and the suspect was gone by the time they arrived. No one was hurt in the incident that still has people here shaking their heads.

Charges could be filed against the person who broke into the hospital later this week.
