(WMC-TV) - Brinda Armstead, who lives in St. Louis, said her family is desperate to find out what happened to her sister Latrice -  the mother of three boys. She has been missing from her Southeast Memphis neighborhood since Sunday.

"It's really hard from day to day just trying to cope and just not knowing," Brinda said. "She is a very dedicated mother which is why we raised the alarm immediately a few hours after her disappearance because she usually calls and checks on her kids."

Armstead had been visiting her family in St. Louis before she disappeared. Her sister has messages about Latrice's disappearance on Facebook.

Armstead's family said she returned to Memphis from St. Louis on Saturday and was going to pick up her son who had been staying with a friend. That is the last time her family saw her.

Her car was discovered burned in Coahoma County Mississippi on a rural road several days later.

Memphis police say her husband, Tony Bledsoe, who relatives say she was divorcing is a person of interest in the case. He is also wanted for violating an order of protection.

Family members say Bledsoe attacked Armstead and broke her jaw that was wired shut when she disappeared.

"He hadn't been out more than a week when she disappeared," Brinda said.

When Action News 5 went to Bledsoe's house, no one answered the door.

"I really wish that he would cooperate because we just want closure," Brinda added.

Police and Latrice Armstead's family are hoping someone comes forward with information that leads to the missing Memphis woman.
