(WMC-TV) – A family is in mourning after two children were killed Thursday in a traffic accident near Senatobia.

Witnesses said two cars and a FedEx truck were involved in the crash, which happened around 12:30 p.m. on Highway 51 south of Senatobia.

According to police, four people were traveling in a green Saturn when the car in front of them stopped to turn left.

A FedEx truck behind the Saturn did not the car had stopped, and slammed into it.

Two sisters in the back of the Saturn, Gabrielle Holland, 6 and Gracie Holland, 2, were killed instantly, authorities said. The driver of the Saturn and mother of the two girls, Jennifer Holland, and the 15-year-old passenger in the front seat were also injured, and taken to The MED.

The girls' cousin, Michael Key, described the two girls.

"Just full of life and just the most precious, sweet things you've ever seen," said Key.

According to authorities, the family in the Saturn was from Como, Mississippi, and had just picked up two of the children in the car from Magnolia Heights School.

Fire Chief Gary Copeland said it was a very emotional rescue.

"Anytime anything involves children it's very hectic," he said. "Of course we had two children who lost their lives, and we had the mother and the 15-year-old passenger that was airlifted to the MED. And I'm sure they're in serious condition, but any time you deal with children, it's a very tough situation."

More than 50 family members came to the MED, where Jennifer Holland and the passenger were brought.  Someone at the scene of the crash reportedly told her husband their two children were dead.

Investigators said it's too soon to say how fast the driver of the FedEx truck was going at the time of the crash. The delivery driver was not injured.
