MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) -Memphis rapper Yo Gotti, along with two others, turned himself in Monday to Shelby County Sheriff's authorities in connection with a Thanksgiving weekend shooting outside a nightclub in which six people were shot.
Gotti, 29, is among two Memphis rappers facing booking at 201 Poplar based on what may have started with a rap feud.
Two other men, Corey McClendon, 36, and Brandon Cottrell, 21, also turned themselves in to authorities. All three men were charged with Aggravated Riot.
Last month, six people were shot in a melee in the parking lot outside Level II nightclub.
According to court records, it started with a "verbal altercation" between Mario "Yo Gotti" Mims and Lance "OG Boo Dirty" Taylor. Both are Memphis rappers.
Mims has made millions as Yo Gotti, while Taylor is an underground Memphis rapper. Both are wanted for their respective roles in the Thanksgiving weekend melee.
In one of Taylor's previously recorded tracks, he attacks Yo Gotti and describes him as a fraud. There is no easily identifiable response in any of Yo Gotti's music.
Yo Gotti's attorney, Art Horne, said Gotti does not condone this behavior and plans to clear his name.
Monday evening, Yo Gotti tweeted, "Just landed in Memphis... Tuning myself in now!"
Mims' record in general sessions court is brief and includes driving citations.
Taylor's record in general sessions court includes a recent arson charge and two recent attempted second degree murder charges. According to court affidavits, Taylor was the triggerman in a shooting outside Club Envy in September.
Taylor has not been booked in this case. In all, there are 11 men who face charges. Only three have been booked as of Monday.
