Bride carjacked moments before she walks down the isle
ROXBURY, MA (NBC) - A Massachusetts bridal party nearly missed the nuptials on Saturday when the limo they were in was carjacked.
"Thank God the girls got out," said Carl Cameron, the wedding bus driver. "They all took off and started running."
The wedding party was sitting in front of a Roxbury church in their limo waiting for the cue to enter and walk down the aisle when a suspect jumped into the vehicle and attacked the driver.
"The next thing I know, the girls are jumping out because he's fighting with the driver," said Cameron. "He pushed the driver out of the car, and then stole the limo, and took off."
As he sped away in the stolen limo while the police pursued him, the suspect smashed into a postal truck.
The limousine was later discovered in South Boston, but the suspect was already gone and is still being pursued by police.
As police pursued the suspect, the wedding continued.
By the time bride and groom made their exit, a new limo was already waiting to take the party to the reception.
None of the wedding party was injured, but they were pretty shaken.
"They're going to be shook up for quite awhile after something like this," said Cameron.
