THIS WEEK'S BIG TIP:  A&J's Catfish Station, 5950 Knight Arnold Rd., Fox Meadows/SE Memphis, 901-795-0300, (check out its Facebook page)

Andre and Janis Myers (hence the "A&J") could have stopped with just their great catfish dishes and big smiles.

But the best thing they serve is their community.

"We have our little meetings and get-together's here," said Linda Hines, member of the Police Ambassadors support group for the Memphis Police East Precinct/Mt. Moriah Station. "They make you feel so welcome that you want to come back."

The Myers want folks who fled Fox Meadows for the 'burbs to come back, too. Symbolically, they set up shop in the same building that was Fox Ridge Pizza for 30 years -- before it up and moved to Cordova.

The Myers want to make it clear that Fox Meadows is home, and home is where A&J will stay.

"We're trying to bring people back to the area because a lot of people have left the area," said Andre Myers.

Their catfish is the bait, along with huge hamburgers, salads and those hush puppies! The regulars have bitten -- hook, line and sinker.

"You just chow in, you know!" exclaimed Tinnie Kones of Fox Meadows, as she peels flaky morsels off her Big Bone Buffalo. "I just love to come here and eat some fish!"

WHAT ANDY LIKES:  Blackened Catfish Salad, Hush Puppies, Big Bone Buffalo, Large Portions & Pleasant Service!
