MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A local legend was honored on the links Saturday in the Bluff City.

Residents teed off at the Links at Pine Hill for the G.A. Hardaway, Sr. charity golf tournament for prostate cancer awareness.

The tournament honors the late Tenn. state representative G.A. Hardaway. He served District 93 for 19 years before passing away in April after a battle with prostate cancer.

Hardaway served on the Prostate Education Awareness Council and championed free screenings, including the 2024 “PSA Screening for Him Act.”

Organizers said this tournament will carry on G.A. Hardaway’s fight for men’s health in Memphis and Shelby County.
