First Alert Forecast: Hot, not as humid for Labor Day
MONDAY: A frontal boundary sagging south will drop humidity levels for Monday, making the hot air feel slightly more tolerable. Highs will still reach the middle to upper 90s under mostly sunny skies, but ‘feels like’ temps will be lower than recent days. With lower humidity a bit of a breeze and continued dry conditions, fire weather danger will increase slightly, as well. Lows fall into the lower 70s under mostly clear skies
TUESDAY: Our dry, hot pattern continues as everyone heads back to work and school after the Labor Day holiday under mostly sunny skies. Highs will remain in the middle to upper 90s with warm overnight lows in the lower to middle 70s.
EXTENDED: Humidity starts to creep back up through mid-late week ahead of a stronger cold front arrives Thursday into Friday. That front brings a chance for a few storms along slight bit of heat relief as highs drop into the lower to middle 90s for Friday and the weekend. Long-range outlooks keep high pressure anchored overhead through mid-September, with minimal rain opportunities and a continuation of the rapid drought across the Mid-South. Highs remain in the lower to middle 90s into the third week of September.
