MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A Memphis police officer has been cited for a crash at Union Avenue and South Cooper Street, where traffic signals have been out of service for days.

The two-vehicle crash was called in at 11:42 p.m. Wednesday.

No injuries were reported, but a department spokesperson says the officer, who was driving a squad car, was determined to be at fault.

The officer was cited for failure to yield at an uncontrolled intersection.

The other driver was cited for not having insurance, having improper state registration, and no driver’s license.

Memphis Light, Gas and Water says the utility is aware of the outage at the intersection but is prioritizing neighborhoods that have been without power since Saturday’s storm.
