According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), the right southbound lane remains closed as crews clear debris and damaged concrete so engineers can evaluate the structural integrity of the bridge. Constructed in 1964, the bridge was already undergoing active construction and is scheduled for demolition in early 2027.
