Tennessee murder suspect arrested after 120 mph chase, crash in Arkansas
TRUMANN, Ark. (WMC) - A Tennessee murder suspect faces additional charges after leading Arkansas law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit on July 31.
According to Trumann police, the Marion Police Department initiated the pursuit just before 2 a.m. after a driver traveling without headlights on Interstate 555 refused to pull over. Speeds reached up to 120 mph as the chase approached Trumann city limits.
An Arkansas State Police trooper performed a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI), causing the suspect’s vehicle to leave the road and overturn in a ditch. A Trumann officer then pulled the driver from the vehicle and took him into custody.
The driver was identified as 31-year-old Lamarkius Ross. Police said Ross had outstanding warrants from Tennessee for first-degree murder, two counts of felony weapon possession, and felony firearm violence. Ross was taken to St. Bernards Medical Center for medical evaluation.
