Riders stuck 120 feet in the air for 3 hours on Sky Screamer swing at Six Flags
ST. LOUIS (KMOV/Gray News) — Firefighters rescued four parkgoers who were stuck on a tall swing ride at Six Flags St. Louis for about three hours.
The incident happened Thursday evening.
Four people were on the Sky Screamer when the ride got stuck around 5:30 p.m., suspending the riders about 120 feet in the air. The ride reaches a maximum height of 235 feet, according to the park’s website.
The Metro West Fire Department said the park’s procedure to get riders down did not work, so Six Flags staff called first responders for help.
Firefighters used a crane to reach the riders and brought them down safely with the help of rescue harnesses.
The Metro West Fire Department said all four riders were safely rescued at about 8:30 p.m.
Park officials said the riders were a family of four, including two children. No one was injured.
