State police investigating shooting involving 2 off-duty Jonesboro officers
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - The Jonesboro Police Department (JPD) has asked Arkansas State Police (ASP) to investigate an accidental shooting involving two off-duty officers.
Shortly before 1 p.m. Dec. 15, officers responded to the area of Red Wolf Boulevard and Stallings Lane regarding a “shooting incident.”

“The incident involved two off-duty JPD officers who were traveling together,” JPD said in a news release. “The victim was transported to an area hospital for further treatment.”
JPD did not provide any other details, saying that ASP had been “called in to continue their investigation into the events of this shooting.”
Cindy Murphy, communications director for the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, confirmed that ASP had been asked to investigate the situation.
She added that ASP had been told the officer suffered “non-life-threatening injuries.”
