MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis police are investigating a robbery at One & Only BBQ on Monday morning.

Officers were called to the restaurant, at Timber Creek Drive and Germantown Parkway, just after 6 a.m.

The victim, an employee, told police he had just parked in the parking lot when a man ambushed him and a co-worker who had just arrived together.

The man forced him into the building and said, “I been watching y’all for a while,” before demanding he open the office door so he could open the safe.

One and Only Vice President Mike Corder says surveillance video revealed the gunman had been hiding in the restaurant’s gated dumpster area.

“In twelve years here, we’ve had three robberies, and we increase security measures each time,” Corder said.

During this time, the suspect was armed with a gun and threatened to kill the female team member.

The suspect was able to steal the money from the safe and stole the victim’s car keys, before driving off in the stolen 2026 Buick Encore.

Officers were able to track down the vehicle to The View Apartments within three hours.

No arrests have been made at this time.
